Site Research

To improve my site drawing and understand the quality of the functions on the site, I started to collect some key information of the site. Like the history of how the site has improved since it became an public square, and the different activities on the site and the different locations of these activities. Unfortunately I was away from my studies today, therefore the work progress are limited for todays blog.

  1. From this research be selective and communicate in your drawing what it is about Union Square that made you choose it as a site. You seemed to identify it as a site for expression and freedom of expression. We talked on Tuesday about how you can develop the way that you draw sound and you could include the sound of the activism, rallies etc into your drawing as part of the way that you show those layers of the site. Your earlier charcoal work and casting created a really nice language of voids and solids which should inform how you now go on to draw sound.
