MoMA Charette – Koolhaas

Just reading on the issues of collection, storing/archiving of art, and came across this interesting unrealised project by OMA, here discussing the role of the museum in a contemporary age. Koolhaas describes the visitor experiences in a ‘new museum’ – where there are “new conditions of artistic production” within a museum’s┬ámain and traditional setting which is to contemplate art. It also refers to the many other functions of a ‘modern museum’ and hintings at the conditions of ‘storage and archives’ which occupies a large proportion of a museum and remains behind the scenes.
