//3D SCAN – In Praised of (my) Shadows

To trick the 123d software I deliberately took photos which had one common element; my shadow. So in composition the model became elongated as the images attempted to stitch together elements whilst being confused about the colour contrast.

Image one – Survey results

The image were of 270 degrees of the planter to ensure my shadow was always in the photo. The resulting  model created a temporal mapping of my shadow as if to reveal a tertiary landscape of areas unseen by the sun.

As a by-product of the mapping, I exported all the images which make up the 3D geometry, these are laid out in 2D as if unflolded, I have enhanced the image to make the shaded elements stand out.plant_bead01
