Week 05: Dymchurch to Dungeness

Sen no Rikyu: ‘’A bit of water here, there, between the trees – the sea!’’ (Lidz, Moore, 1994, p.15)

‘’Familiar yet simple, yet enchantingly complex, water is endlessly appealing. We are compelled to stare at the river flowing under a bridge… transfixed by the sound of the gurgling stream or waves at the beach. ‘’ (Lidz, Moore, 1994, p.19)

I’ve been looking more into flood defence systems beyond Dungeness, broadening out to Dymchurch to gain a more holistic understanding of the effects of the water on site.

I’ve also been thinking more about portfolio layout, using the tidal timetable format as a potential way of representing the results from my salt water and material experiments.
