From the previous tutorial at DMA, I have drawn out several drawings comparing the traditional archive method, how memory is formed and from the combination of the two, my proposed archive program flow.
The proposed archive will involve the public; both locals and temporary visitors; to be actively involved in the archive process.
Also, I have drawn out two precedent buildings, namely the House of Memory in Milan and Jewish Museum in Berlin. The precedent on House of Memory studies the programs and methods involved in archiving memories of the Milanese, while the techniques to evoke certain emotion using light and volumes are studies in the Jewish Museum in Berlin.
Plans for next tutorial:
- Draw out precedent studies (Holocaust Memorial, Salina Turda, Turda Brewery, Genk C-Mine etc).
- Refine time based drawings by having a unified language and direction for all 5 drawings.
- Study about kinetic structures (Tom Kundig).
